This CTR calculator is designed for advertisers and web publishers. Click Through Rate (CTR) is a common measure of how many visitors engaged with a banner advertisement or link placement. It divides the number of clicks by the number of times an advertising banner was displayed, giving you the percentage chance of an individual ad being clicked.

As an advertiser, you might use this to analyze your advertising buy. As a web publisher or affiliate marketer, you can adapt this concept to looking at how many visitors went deeper into your content or offer (landing page). For example, we track the click-through-rate for various sets of links that promote our resources to increasing website revenue. This helps us understand which promotional methods are best for guiding visitors into the content we want them to read.

Set goals for your site - could be moving a visitor into an offer page or email signup form. You can use this calculator to calculate the effective click-through-rate to your offers for free traffic; every visitor is an impression (they see your links), every person who clicks through to the goal page is counted as a click. We recommend setting up your destination page as an official "goal" in Google Analytics. You can then look at the Click Through Rate for each landing page to understand which content is working (generating an acceptable ROI) and which needs work.
